3 Years New...At 48

Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms. - 1 Peter 4:10

There are so many excuses that I can use to hold back and not serve God, but none of them are good enough to miss God’s best.

I have heard it said..."John Warren, he's the last person that I would have ever thought that I would see posting scripture on FB or anywhere else."

All I can say to that is....The Holy Spirit is Powerful! Anything is possible through God!

Because I have failed in so many ways, God gets all the glory for anything that comes out of my life that’s worth mentioning. So no matter what comes my way, if God can still use me, as embarrassing and humbling as it might be, I want to be used for Him.

Don't ever feel that you have made too many mistakes or wrong decisions in your life to serve God.
Don't feel that it's too late in your life to begin serving God.
Don't feel like you have to be perfect to serve God.
Don't think you will be perfect when you begin serving God.
Don't feel that you won't make a difference in your life or in the the life of someone else when you begin serving God.

You don't have to take my word for it...just read God's Word. Read about Peter, Solomon and David, just to name a few. They were human beings, struggling just like you and me.

”Mishaps are like knives, that either serve us or cut us, as we grasp them by the blade or the handle.” - James Russell Lowell

Our Wants...Never Satisfied?

Psalm 78:20 Behold, he smote the rock, that the waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed; can he give bread also? Can he provide flesh for his people.

God wants us to truly appreciate what we have before we go asking for more. He gives good things to His children, and He is willing to give abundantly, but He desires us to learn the real meaning of thankfulness.

Who Do You Think You Are Fooling?

Amos 5:14-15
Seek good, not evil, that you may live. Then the Lord God Almighty will be with you. Hate evil, love good; maintain justice in the courts.

I think we can all agree that we are in danger of falling into the trap of keeping up an outward appearance of religion even though we sometimes abandoned our faith in God. Performing to get the approval of your boss or friends, hiding your failures from your wife or husband, pretending you are faithfully following God’s way when you are not.

God is not so concerned with how you appear on the surface; he sees through your false appearances even if others don’t. God cares about the attitude of your heart.

“Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference.” - Winston Churchhill (1874-1965)

Christianity is Unnaturally Popular!

"What's is more important...To be a Disciple of God or to do what seems natural and popular to today's culture?"
Jesus wants us to follow him, but he still desires quality disciples. That level of commitment might mean living, saying and doing things that ruffle some feathers.
As evangelist Billy Graham notes, “It is unnatural for Christianity to be popular."

Mark Twain "Sad but True"

As Mark Twain once said, “a lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes.
